Executive Summary



The Institute for Jewish Studies in the CIS is a multi-faceted Jewish education organization geared especially for Russian-speaking Jewry. Under the leadership of Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz, the Institute organizes teacher training programs, national speaking tours, seminars for educators and journalists and a prestigious and massive publishing initiative. The Institute also hosts a Russian website, provides leadership training to local activists in the former Soviet Union (FSU) and coordinates a network of informal education initiatives. It is based in Moscow, Irkutsk (Siberia) and Jerusalem.
